Dr. Bassel Darwish
Dr. Darwish has more than 25 years of experience gained from his training and practice in Syria, USA, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Dubai. He received his medical degree from Damascus University and did his Internal Medicine training at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center followed by Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Wisconsin, which is considered to be one of the best Universities in the USA.
He holds active certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialty of Rheumatology in addition to active certification in Internal medicine. Dr. Darwish holds active permanent license to practice in the State of Wisconsin, USA. He is a fellow member of the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Darwish has extensive experience in treating inflammatory joint diseases in adults, like rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis like ankylosing spondylitis and arthritis associated with inflammatory bowel disease, and other autoimmune connective tissue disease like SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus), Sjogren’s syndrome, scleroderma, polymyositis and dermatomyositis, and crystal induced arthritis like gout and other rheumatic diseases.
He is also experienced in treating inflammatory joint diseases in children, like juvenile rheumatoid (idiopathic) arthritis, childhood onset ankylosing spondylitis and lupus. Dr. Darwish has special interest in preventing and treating Osteoporosis and vitamin D deficiency.
