Dr. Mohtasim Qamruddin
Dr. Mohtasim Qamruddin has over 18 years of experience in Psychiatry. After completing his core and higher training from Wales, UK, he attained his certificate of completion of training (CCT) from the general medical council, UK (2011) and is on the GMC specialist register.
He became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London in 2007. He completed his MSc in psychiatry from Cardiff, UK (2009). He has worked as a full-time substantiative consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist in West wales for 6 years, where he was managing a catchment area of around 50,000 population.
He was also the medical lead for eating disorders and psychotherapy for West Wales Health Board. He was the Training Programme Director for core psychiatry training in Wales.
Dr. Mohtasim has a special interest in various forms of psychotherapy. Particularly, he has expertise in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
After qualifying in CBT from the esteemed Oxford University, he got British Association of Behaviour and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) accreditation. He moved to Dubai in 2017 and has been a consultant psychiatrist and has been lead for Inpatient general adult psychiatry service at Al Amal Psychiatry Hospital, Dubai.
He now provides an outpatient service at the Health Call Clinic, Dubai Health Care City, and offers psychiatry and psychotherapy consultations and treatment.
