Rheumatism” or “arthritis” are general terms that mean “joint’s disease”, so they mean any disease that affects the joints, however many people associate them with the “old age” rheumatism, which is called osteoarthritis or the “tear and wear” arthritis, and this form of rheumatism is widespread because it will basically affect everyone after certain age, usually starting around the age of forty but it is only a small portion of “rheumatism.
List of some diseases that fall under the general term “rheumatism”.

- Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (an autoimmune inflammatory condition that involves several systems)
- Osteoarthritis (the tear and wear arthritis)
- Osteoporosis (weak bones) and Vitamin D deficiency
- Gout (uric acid arthritis)
- Psoriatic arthritis (the arthritis that can be associated with psoriasis in some patients)

- Family Medicine
Family Medicine is a practice based on preventive medicine to help patients know about their health before becoming ill and thus treat their diseases before having any long-term effects.
It is a practice that encompasses the whole patient’s lifetime, from birth to death. Family Medicine is also a practice that is the core medical practice in a patient’s life. It deals with the patient’s most basic medical care and refers to other specialties for more specific care. It also converges all this care to one physician who has all the information in one place.
The family physician is the one physician who can see the patient as a whole, looking at his/her family history, background, psychology, and medical history and thus giving the physician the ability to make a well-rounded decision.
