Children, Adolescents & Families
Child & Adolescent Counselling in Dubai
Support for children and teenagers navigating anxiety, big transitions, or difficult emotions — from a BACP-registered counsellor who works with young people and their families.

A calm, age-appropriate approach for every stage of childhood
Children and teenagers don't always have the words to explain what they are feeling. Our counsellor works with young people and their families to create a space where they feel safe, understood, and able to work through anxiety, change, and difficult emotions at their own pace.

What to expect
Sessions are tailored to your child's age and comfort — younger children often benefit from play-based or creative approaches, while teenagers typically engage well with direct conversation, much like an adult session. Parents are involved as much as is genuinely helpful: enough to support what's happening at home, without turning the space into something your child feels they can't be honest in.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as seeing a child psychologist?
Not exactly, though the two are closely related and people often search for either term when looking for the same kind of support. Our counsellor is BACP-registered rather than holding a psychology-specific qualification. In practice, for most children and teenagers experiencing anxiety, difficult transitions, or emotional struggles, counselling provides the same kind of supportive, talk-based help. If your child has been referred for a specific psychological assessment (such as for ADHD or autism), that's a separate service — ask us and we can point you in the right direction.
What age range do you see?
We work with both children and adolescents, adjusting our approach to suit their age and developmental stage.
Will you tell me everything my child says in sessions?
Confidentiality is handled thoughtfully with young clients — we'll discuss with you upfront what will and won't be shared, balancing your child's need for a safe, private space with your role as a parent. Anything involving genuine safety concerns is always shared, in line with standard safeguarding practice.
How do I know if my child needs counselling or just time?
Some adjustment is normal, especially after a big change. It's worth reaching out if difficulties last more than a few weeks, are getting worse rather than better, or are affecting school, friendships, sleep, or your child's usual mood. If you're unsure, a first conversation with us costs nothing to ask about — you don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out.
Do you work with expat and relocating families specifically?
Yes — this is a significant part of what we see in Dubai, given how many families here are navigating international moves, new schools, and adjusting to life far from extended family. If this sounds like your situation, our article on helping children adjust after relocating may also be a helpful starting point.
